about

The NuFolk Global Connections Orchestra
Folk musicians from six countries – Italy, Spain, Belgium, Hungary, Denmark and Latvia – each of whom represents their own culture and tradition, sing in their own language and play their traditional folk instruments – have united in an orchestra and created a musical programme with influences from all the traditions.

The musicians met for the first time in January 2020 in Sicily, where they played music together and prepared their programme to be performed in the following summer in various festivals in the different participating countries. However the global pandemic cancelled those plans. Now, in 2021 life music starts to resound again, festivals are happening again and we have the unique opportunity to listen to the NuFolk Orchestra at the Ethno Festival SVIESTS with an almost full line-up.
